Born and raised in Bristol, Rhode Island, Joe is deeply committed to his community. As a fourth-generation leader of C. B. Utility, Christopher brings over 20 years of experience to the company, shaping its continued success and growth in an ever-evolving industry. As Executive Vice President, Chris has successfully managed a workforce producing over $100 million in construction projects, consistently pushing boundaries and embracing innovation to meet the demands of a changing market.
Guided by a deep commitment to excellence, Christopher has played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s capabilities beyond its traditional scope, taking on challenges that require cutting-edge solutions and forward-thinking strategies. A firm believer in the power of technology, he has championed new advancements that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and precision in construction.
Christopher is a proud graduate of Roger Williams University, where he earned honors, solidifying a strong foundation in leadership, business strategy, and industry expertise. Beginning as a laborer at C. B. Utility and working through the ranks of the company, Chris brings hands-on knowledge of the work to his management skillset. His dedication to upholding C. B. As our Project Manager, Ed brings with him a wealth of experience in construction estimation and coordination. Since joining C. B. Utility in 1988, Ed has successfully overseen multi-million-dollar projects across Rhode Island and Connecticut. His comprehensive understanding of project management encompasses every stage, from initial planning to final completion, ensuring that each project is delivered on time and within budget.
Ed is a licensed P7 Plumbing Contractor with extensive background in large-scale industrial plumbing. His prior role as an inspector allowed him to gain invaluable insights into construction site auditing, which now enhances his effectiveness in managing projects. He is fully committed to safety; as an OSHA 40-hour certified professional, Ed ensures that compliance and safety standards are consistently upheld.
Known for his hands-on approach, Ed is actively engaged in the field, coordinating multiple crews across various job sites. His leadership is vital to the successful execution of C. B. Utility’s civil and environmental projects, and he is highly regarded for his dedication and expertise in the industry.
Edward J. Cox II CPA, is a certified public accountant, bringing over four decades of his experience in public accounting, taxation, and corporate finance to his role as Chief Financial Officer of C. B. Utility Co., Inc. Ed has spent the past 48 years supporting C. B. Utility Company and its related entities with steadfast financial leadership and strategic planning.
Ed holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Providence College, an M.S. in Taxation from Bryant College, and an M.S. in Accounting, respectively. He also earned an MBA from Northeastern University, further strengthening his expertise in business operations and financial management.
As CFO, Ed oversees a broad portfolio of responsibilities, including financial reporting, investment management, real estate development, commercial and residential leasing, and estate and succession planning. His analytical rigor and commitment to long-term sustainability make him an invaluable asset to the C. B. Utility leadership team.
With over 31 years of engineering and construction experience, Tom Simbro serves as a Senior Project Manager at C B Utility. He brings a wealth of expertise in project management for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects, encompassing all aspects from design and planning to permitting, construction management, and administration. Tom earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and is professionally registered in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Since joining C B Utility in 2007, he has successfully led numerous projects that showcase his proficiency in managing complex engineering challenges. An active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Water Environment Federation, and the American Water Works Association, Tom is committed to advancing the field of civil engineering and ensuring high-quality solutions for infrastructure development. Tom Simbro’s dedication to excellence and his extensive industry knowledge make him a valued leader at C B Utility, where he continues to drive successful project outcomes and foster innovation in utility management.
